Our experience can demystify the public tender process to provide the support needed to get the job done right – whichever side of the table you’re sitting on.
The funding of makerspace facilities is often made possible by government grants and other state funding mechanisms. Since public funds are being spent, the allocations of taxpayers’ money is generally safeguarded through the launch and management of a competition process, typically in the form of an RFP (Request for Proposal).
For governments and local councils, creating RFPs that ensure public accountability while also guaranteeing successful outcomes for the project can be a challenging task.
For applicants, makerspaces can be a strong fit in meeting the criteria of grants and funding streams too. Makerspace facilities are often eligible for public procurement funding and public/private partnership or international offset projects, especially in areas such as capital infrastructural grants, urban and rural regeneration, social outreach and education, skills training and jobs creation, and innovation and entrepreneurship. Many of these funding applications can place demanding requirements and tight deadlines for applicants, making putting together a strong proposal a significant drain on time and resources.
It doesn’t have to be. Makerspace People has been involved in the planning, budgeting, scoping, evaluation, bidding, selection and tendering of public procurement processes across four continents. Through our Procurement Management package, we can assist Governments and Agencies to design and launch RFP processes that deliver the required results. Our approach will support your organisation to develop the stages of a tender process that provides the necessary transparency and due diligence while allowing the best candidates to shine through.
